Welcome

Welcome to some of my mother's paintings.
The blog started on March 19th, my brother's birthday.

BE THE FIRST to comment on one of Amna Hassan's works:
"Escape". Please scroll down to see it.

Amna Hassan studied fine arts in both Sudan and Nigeria, specializing
in graphic design. However, her interest, from the age of 5, which is as
far as she can remember, has always been painting.

So while specializing in graphic design and attending her art classes,
Amna Hassan worked for many hours on developing her skills, first
acquiring the techniques developed by realists and impressionists,
especially French Orientalists.

She developed her own techniques very early and advises young
artists that talent is essential but not enough: works of art
require hard work and concentration. A typical oil painting takes
Amna Hassan six to eight hours of work daily and for several
weeks. Pencil works usually take less time, and abstract lesser still,
but her passion is in oil paintings.

Every painting has a story.

Some of the paintings' stories are expressed in lyrical poetry,
which should be translated soon. The artist will also add her
stories to each of her paintings and drawings.

You are invited, however, to write your story on ESCAPE.
Please scroll down to see it.
